The main sources of water-absorbent resins are natural polymers or synthetic polymers. Natural polymers are starch, cellulose, chitosan, etc., which means that the potato starch in our daily life can prepare water-absorbent resins; while synthetic polymers include polyacrylic acid (PAA), polyacrylamide (PAM) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), etc.
