Research status of disposable diaper

Introduction: The advent of disposable diapers has been a great convenience for most families. A small disposable diaper not only ensures that the baby stays dry and comfortable, but also brings convenience to many baby parents. While thanking the creators of the product, one can't help but wonder: how did it develop?

Next, let us review the domestic research process. Since its appearance in the 1950s, the disposable diaper has undergone tremendous developmental changes, from the original diapers to the later pants to the later pants, from the initial use of pulp to absorb water to the use of superabsorbent resins, whether using nonwovens or backing films. After several generations of replacement, now its surface mainly uses ES or PP short fiber hot-rolled non-woven fabric and PP spunbond non-woven fabric, and the leg side leakage prevention layer is usually PP spun-bonded non-woven fabric or short fiber hot-rolled material and SMS non-woven material, the guide layer is mainly made of hot air non-woven material, and the back material is mainly PE breathable film. At present, in order to reduce the noise during the baby's wearing process, non-woven material and film composite material are used as the back.

Domestic research on diapers started late and progressed slowly. The main scientific research innovation and patent monopoly, the domestic focus on development and market, functional fibers and other raw materials in their new applications, there is less discussion on comfort, and the comfort evaluation system has not been established. In 2006, Chi Lingchen's "PE/PP Composite Spunbond Nonwoven Structural Properties and disposable diaper Application Research" focused on the production technology and product performance of ES fibers (ie PE/PP composite spunbond fibers), and The suitability of ES fiber as a face layer and side leakage prevention layer. In 2008, Yuan Chuangang selected chitin, lyocell and ES fibers as raw materials. Through the mixing ratio, he screened out the best ratio and the best process parameters, and evaluated their antibacterial properties, air permeability, absorption rate, softness and other properties. In addition, Jiang Yi, Wang Zizheng and others have also done corresponding research on the improvement of materials and the comparison, evaluation and prospect of the overall market.

Additionally, research on comfort and safety has primarily focused on the effects on infant skin health. It is mainly reflected in the benefits of using disposable diaper and preventing the baby from allergies after using it, but it is less in-depth on the comfort of heat and humidity. However, as technology continues to innovate, this is gradually improving. Major brands continue to be further subdivided. On the premise of ensuring safety, heat and humidity comfort should also be considered.
