Campen Machinery A / S of Denmark has developed a process that can help give new life to complex airlaid waste as soft fiber pads.
At the recent INDEX exhibition, a European airlaid waste roller manufacturer was questioned and subsequently developed. The customer produces tons of airlaid waste per year, including edge cutting, start roll or material whose quality does not meet expectations. The waste is currently being burned, and the company is keen to investigate whether the waste can be upgraded. Therefore, they used their materials to book a test course at the airlaid testing facility in Campen, Denmark.
The challenge with this material is that the airlaid product is bonded with latex, and therefore it is difficult to dismantle. Previous attempts at other factories failed because they failed to properly handle the fibers and the entire molding head was blocked.
However, Campen reported that there were no problems with testing its airlaid testing facility and the results were very satisfied with both Campen and customers."With our unique mixer forming technology, fibers can be processed and made into soft and flexible fiber pads that can be used for example as packaging, packaging materials or as pallets," explains Jens Erik Thordahl, a senior airlaid expert and partner. Campenn machinery."In this round of testing, we made a curling fiber mat weighing 550 g / square meter. However, we can easily adjust the thickness and weight of the material if needed.
"The customer has received the first samples of the test, and they are very excited. They simply didn't expect to get such high quality products from their waste.”
